The Safety Challenge
In industrial operations, where forklifts and pedestrians intersect, accidents can have staggering consequences.
When a one-second error can mean the difference between a near-miss and a serious injury you need the most advanced, accurate pedestrian safety system working for your team.
Powerfleet is here to help. As an existing customer, you know the importance of safety, therefore we’re excited to introduce you to an advanced safety measure to assist you in achieving a stellar safety culture. Meet our Pedestrian Proximity Detection solution.
Meeting Your Safety Challenges
Say goodbye to blind spots! Pedestrian Proximity Detection identifies and prevents potential hazards and impending danger, all without the need for wearable tags or attire.
But that’s not all. When you pair this system with our forklift telematics data, you unlock a trove of valuable insights. These insights help you identify areas for enhancement and offer valuable coaching for drivers, fostering a culture of safety within your facility.
Most operators use our Pedestrian Proximity Detection system to generate two primary alert zones. A Caution Zone, shown in yellow, triggers a visual and audible alert for the operator when the zone is breached. Integrated with our Speed Manager, this also reduces the forklift’s speed.
The Danger Zone, shown in red, triggers a visual and audible warning for the operator when the closest zone is breached. For equipment integrated with our Speed Manager, a red zone breach reduces the acceleration to a minimal speed.
Pedestrian Proximity Detection can operate up to four cameras, and each camera can project up to 5 independent alert zones – all processed through our platform. Options include an in-cab display monitor, a highly visible Pedestrian Alert Lightning System, and integration to our Forklift Gateway.
For two-camera systems, Pedestrian Proximity Detection automatically switches cameras to only detect in the forklift’s direction of travel.
The system can alert for as many people or objects as is required – keeping your environment as safe as possible.
The solution works hand in hand with our Forklift Gateway product to identify near misses and capture event details like breach location, time, and driver identification.
