Powerfleet’s Pedestrian Proximity Detection (PPD) system has been nominated for “Product of the Year 2026” in the Robotics & Handling category by Computer&Automation magazine. The nomination recognises PPD’s effectiveness in preventing workplace accidents and providing measurable safety improvements across industrial environments.

PPD uses AI-powered vision technology to proactively prevent collisions between pedestrians, vehicles, and industrial equipment. The system identifies potential hazards in real time, delivering alerts to operators and pedestrians and providing management with actionable analytics to optimise safety. The technology was developed in direct response to customer feedback, with input from operations teams shaping the system’s capabilities and design.

“This nomination highlights the real-world impact PPD has on warehouse safety,” Stevie McQuoid, General Manager at Powerfleet for Europe and Middle East, said. “More importantly, it’s a recognition of the customers and teams who helped shape this product through their insights and trust. We’re grateful for the chance to compete alongside other innovative solutions.”
