ORBCOMM Africa transitions to Powerfleet
About the transition
ORBCOMM Africa is approaching the final stage of its integration into the Powerfleet global organisation. This transition strengthens our ability to serve customers across Africa with greater scale, deeper expertise, and a wider portfolio of intelligent fleet solutions.
The first phase of post-acquisition integration is progressing as planned, with key objectives successfully on track.
This page explains what the change means for you, what stays the same, and what to expect as we move forward together.
Impact on current customers
As ORBCOMM Africa transitions to Powerfleet, you will gain access to a larger global platform, expanded solution capabilities, and more in-depth data-driven insights designed for complex operational environments across the continent.
Some changes will happen gradually, including updates to systems, processes, and engagement models, as ORBCOMM Africa is fully integrated with the Powerfleet global organisation. These changes will be implemented in phases to ensure continuous service and minimal disruption to your operations.
We are committed to clear communication throughout this process and will provide advance notice and guidance whenever changes occur.

Billing, customer record, and vendor data migration
Thank you for your patience and support as we integrate customer, billing records, and all supplier data. This is a complex and crucial workstream, and we have made significant progress.
Live testing is scheduled to take place over the next four weeks, with the goal of completing the cutover by the end of the February 2026 billing cycle. We understand that this transition may cause temporary inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we proceed through this final phase.
Sky Q sunset and migration to Powerfleet Unity On-Road IoT
Our technology team has integrated the legacy ORBCOMM Africa solutions into Powerfleet’s On-Road IoT platform, called Unity. Customer testing and migration will start in the last week of February 2026.
Unity represents a significant advancement in capability, performance, and scalability compared to Sky Q. We are committed to delivering a well-planned and coordinated migration, led by our Customer Success teams and supported by your existing sales contact, to ensure minimal disruption to your operations.
