Powerfleet wins Spar Supplier of the Year Award 2025
Midrand, South Africa – 05 December 2025: Powerfleet, Inc. (JSE: PWR), a global leader in AIoT (artificial intelligence of things) SaaS (software-as-a-service) for the mobile asset industry, has been honoured with the Spar Supplier of the Year 2025 award in recognition of operational excellence across South Africa’s largest retail distribution network.
The award recognises sustained performance based on assessments by Spar’s distribution centres in Northrand and Southrand in Gauteng, and in KwaZulu-Natal, which evaluated Powerfleet throughout the year against key service quality criteria: reliability, responsiveness, competence, communication, access, and innovation. Powerfleet received an overall satisfaction rating of 92%, with notable strengths in competence (94%) and communication (94%).
Since joining Spar as a supplier in 2017, Powerfleet has consistently maintained performance above 90% across all service areas. This achievement reflects the company’s approach to understanding operational realities on the ground – what Spar’s teams need to keep complex logistics running reliably, efficiently, and safely.
“This award recognises our commitment to reliability and responsiveness,” said Brendan Horan, General Manager – Rest of World. “In retail distribution, there’s little room for inconsistency. What Spar values is partners who deliver on fundamentals: systems that stay stable, problems solved promptly, and technical support that’s accessible when needed.”
Spar’s evaluation also assessed innovation, the extent to which suppliers develop solutions that create measurable value. Powerfleet’s innovation score of 93% reflects its recent introduction of AI-powered camera intelligence capabilities, which have provided Spar’s operations with new visibility and insight previously unavailable. The award feedback specifically highlighted enthusiasm from distribution centre teams for these emerging tools and their implementation approach.
“The margin between suppliers often comes down to one thing,” Horan added. “Do they listen to what customers actually need, and do they have the capability to deliver it consistently? That foundation builds trust.”
The recognition spans two geographically separate regions, each facing unique operational challenges. Maintaining consistent performance across this scale requires both strong technology infrastructure and teams with a genuine understanding of local operations; an approach Spar’s feedback acknowledged through specific praise for individual team members who supported their centres.
